Collaboration

The research group has established research cooperation with both domestic and foreign researchers, institutions and networks that are of relevance to the project. Two prominent international scholars serve as consultants to the project, Ian Gregory, Professor of Digital Humanities at Lancaster University and one of the founders of the Great Britain Historical GIS, and Evan Roberts, Assistant Professor of Population Studies at the University of Minnesota. We have invited domestic and foreign experts to our workshops, including Cormac Ó Grada, University College Dublin, and John Ragnar Myking, Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. We are in close cooperation with the National Archives of Iceland to secure expert advice and access to relevant sources. Contacts have been established with the National Land Survey of Iceland to ensure specialist advice, access to maps and dissemination of database information.
